Altex Non Skid Particles (fine grade) are a synthetic particle designed for yachts and other surfaces requiring a premium finish. Depend on the nature of the work, and the coating system being utilised, the particles may be either rolled onto the surface as a premixed coating, carefully broadcast or spray applied. Normally used in conjunction with polyurethane coatings.
IMPORTANT
Altex Non Skid Particles provide improved traction underfoot, however, increasing the size of the particle applied does not necessarily mean an increase in traction.
The coating used, the environment (wet/dry) and the type of footwear worn all contribute to the amount of traction achieved.
In some situations, a finer non skid finish will provide superior traction compared to a coarser grade finish. We recommend that trials involving differing density particles, and different particle size be carried out to determine the most suitable finish for any given project.
